garden style:		Is there a particular style of garden you'd like to have--Japanese, for instance, or Mediterranean? Walking around your neighborhood, are there any gardens that you really like? What catches your eye about them? Are there particular colors that draw or repel you?
planned changes:		Long-term, are you planning to do any additions to your family, house, fencing, driveway, decking, or patio? In what ways will the planned changes affect how you use your landscape?

landscape maintenance:		Are you planning to keep up the yard yourself, or do you plan to hire someone to maintain it? If you plan to maintain the landscape yourself, what maintenance tasks do you prefer, and what do you hate to do? (e.g., "I don't like weeding," or, "I love to prune plants.") budget:		We don't need a specific number, but what order of magnitude do you expect to spend to install your landscape--$5,000? $10,000? $100,000?
