Palo Alto Festival of the Arts--August 2004

A couple of months before the Palo Alto festival, a young mountain lion was killed by police in the middle of suburban Palo Alto (after being treed by what the newspaper described as a "geriatric Labrador"). The killing produced the sort of uproar that only occurs in areas like Palo Alto. This was our response to the story: how would you feel if you realized two cougars were looking down at you from a tree?
